Sci-Port Space Center

Alliance designed the two-story 22,000 s.f. addition to the Sci-Port Discovery Center located in Shreveport, Louisiana. This addition will serve as Space and Science Center for the surrounding communities.

The new Space Center has a 40' interactive dome planetarium that visitors can experience on both the first and the second floor.

Some of the other features of the building include a Foucault Pendulum. The Pendulum hangs from a 35 foot cable and demonstrates the gravitational pull of the earth.

The front and most prominent feature on the exterior of the building houses a 12' diameter sun dial. Visitors are able to tell time throughout the day by gazing up at the shadow that is cast by the uniquely designed skylight.
